About

Hi, I’m Ella Knight — decorator, paint-color obsessive, and firm believer that your home should make you happy when you walk through the door.

I started HomeIsDecor because I was tired of home decor advice that assumed a limitless budget and a professional crew. Most of us are working with a rental, a mortgage, a few hundred dollars, and a Saturday afternoon. That’s who I write for.

What you’ll find here: practical room ideas, paint color guides tested in real light, gallery wall layouts that actually work, and wall decor inspiration for every style — from minimalist to maximalist, farmhouse to modern.

My philosophy: Good design isn’t about money. It’s about decisions — the right color, the right placement, the willingness to try. Every guide on this site is written to help you make those decisions with confidence.

Thanks for stopping by. Now go move that sofa — you know you’ve been thinking about it.
